Jess Turns to Niki (Soap Opera Digest 12/13/05)

Jessica gets desperate this week in her battle with DID and turns to the only person she thinks can help -- Niki Smith.

"She wants to know what happened to her, and she believes if her mom doesn't know, then Niki would," explains Bree Williamson (Jessica).

Jessica's quest for answers begins when Antonio informs her that she was calling out nash's name in her sleep. She assures Antonio that he's the man she loves, but later has a run-in with nash that makes her feel even more awkward.

"[Jessica and Nash] are having a nice moment on the bed, talking about the baby, talking about how much he misses Tess," Williamson previews. "Then, he puts his hand on her stomach to feel the baby, and before she knows it, she looks up and he plants one on her. She's kind of shocked and surprised and doesn't know what to do, but she doesn't kiss him back at all."

Unlike the last kiss they shared, this smooch doesn't bring back Tess. Meanwhile, Jessica becomes more determined to get well and decides to seek Niki's assistance. But anyone who remembers Niki knows she isn't exactly the selfless, helpful type.

"It's the same old Niki," Williamson sighs. "She doesn't really care about Jessica. She just tries to manipulate the situation to get out of the house."
