Who's the Mommy? (Soap Opera Digest 10/4/05)
Soap fans are used to not knowing who the father of an unborn baby is, but
this week, OLTL viewers will find themselves wondering who the mother
is when Jessica informs Tess that she/they are pregnant.
"Jessica was pregnant before, so she explains to Tes that when she was [the
dominant personality] for a few minutes, she could feel in her body right
away that she was pregnant," previews Bree Williamson (Tess/Jessica). "She
says, 'You don't have the flu. You're pregnant.' Even though Tess tells her
that she's crazy, I think a part of her believes it. I mean, you don't have
the flu for three weeks."
As if that wasn't enough of a bombshell for Tess to handle, Nash finds out
from sleazy friend Bruce that "Tess Buchanan" doesn't exist, which brings
him a step closer to figuring out Tess's true identity. "He does sort of
figure out that Tess and Jess are the same person, but he doesn't know that
she has DID," Williamson explains. "Nash just thinks that she's had a troubled
past and has therefore changed her name to run away from it. Not that she
created an alter, but that she has consciously created a new life."
Meanwhile, Antonio is closer than ever to tracking Tess down thanks to an
e-mail that Jessica sends him during a brief emergence. Tess maintains control,
for now, but at some point soon Tess is going to have to deal with the fact
that she and Jessica share the same body.
"The pregnancy is part of the battle between Jessica and Tess," Williamson
smirks. "Then there's always the question of who the father is...."
